LocalChess ("we", "us") is a free online chess game. This policy explains what limited data is involved when you use localchess.online. In short: your chess games stay on your device, and we don't ask you to create an account or provide personal information.

Data you provide

None is required. You can play without signing up or entering any personal details.

Data stored on your device

To remember your preferences (theme, board style, sound, difficulty) and your current game, we use your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to us. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings or by using "Reset everything" in the game's Settings.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous usage (for example, how many people visit and which pages are popular). Google may set cookies and process a truncated version of your IP address to provide these statistics. We do not use this data to identify individuals. Cookies

The game itself does not require cookies to function. The only cookies are those set by Google Analytics as described above.

Our site may link to external websites (such as GitHub). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

Children's privacy

LocalChess is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
